Cat in the Box

What is it with cats and boxes?

I receive a package in the mail yesterday. I open it (fabulous outdoor curtains!) and leave it in the living room while I finish cleaning the house.

Now, my cats bolt from a room that’s getting vacuumed, so off they fly, out of the bedroom as I bring out the “big, bad vacuum cleaner” and rev it up.

(A little side note about vacuum cleaners: every time I think of them, I remember the film, “Our Man in Havana,” where Sir Alec Guinness portrays a vacuum cleaner salesperson. In a case of mistaken identity, he becomes a member of the British secret service. Believe it or not, the vacuum cleaner has something to do with it. Funny flick).

Anyway, I continue I cleaned the bathrooms, den and office, too. When I finish, I wonder where the cats are.

I know just where to look.

Curled up in the fabulous-outdoor-curtains box is Sofie, my girl-cat. Boy-cat Sam is close at hand. If he could, he would have been in the box with Sofie.

I guess it’s a cat thing.

(1) RESPONSES to Cat in the Box

I have several pictures of my cats trying to squeeze into boxes that are much too small. Good thing they’re cardboard boxes, lol. I have no idea why cats do this, but my opinion is that thet like the security of something surrounding them. Crazy cats, but gotta love em!
